Museum of Nativity Scenes in Třebechovice (Třebechovické muzeum betlémů)

We invite you to visit the Museum of Nativity Scenes in Třebechovice pod Orebem with Christmas atmosphere year-round.

As part of individual tour, it is possible to see the mechanical Bethlehem nativity scene made by Probošt, along with its wooden mechanism, exhibitions of nativity scenes made of various materials and coming from various places in the Czech Republic, you can also stop by in a shop to buy all kinds of souvenir nativity scenes. The mechanical nativity scene made by folk sculptors, Josef Probošt and Josef Kapucián, with the mechanism made by Josef Friml, is undoubtedly the most precious and most admired nativity scene. The nativity scene, along with its mechanism was made of wood over one hundred years ago. At the surface of 7x3 m, you can see over 350 carved wooden figurines, 200 of which are mobile. Apart from it, the museum displays several dozen of other nativity scenes from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 1999, the Probošt nativity scene in Třebechovice, as the only one in the country, was given the status of a cultural monument.
