Cistercian Landscape Compositions in Rudy Wielkie with the Post-Cistercian Monastery and Palace Complex and basilica in Rudy

The Cistercian Landscape Compositions in Rudy Wielkie is a landscape park with an area of almost 500 km2, which is the location of the Post-Cistercian Monastery and Palace Complex in Rudy.

The park encompasses areas from the Odra in the west to Orzesze and Woszczyce in the east and from the Bierawka River in the north to Rybnik in the south. The  natural attractiveness of the area is related to the preserved flora and its topography as well as the high cultural values initiated by the forestry and fishing management of the Cistercians as early as the 13th century.

The most valuable asset of the entire park is the monastery and palace complex, which includes: the Gothic church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the medieval post-Cistercian monastery buildings that were renovated in recent years and the 18th century baroque section of the palace residence that was added in the 18th century. The abbey is open to the public, and visitors can also follow the educational trails in the park.
