Vysočina open-air museum

In the log houses, you can see how small farmers lived and worked in the period from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century. The tour covers also exceptional water-powered technical artifacts.

Surrounded by the picturesque landscape, we will find the most extensive exhibition of folk architecture in the Eastern part of the Czech Republic which documents the conditions in which inhabitants of rural areas lived and worked from the mid-19th century to the 1950s. There are almost 30 objects combining the settlement. Log houses were arranged in a way that best illustrates farmers’ way of living in the past. At the Veselý Kopec hill, there are many events organised which present the folklore of the region, traditional customs, handicraft, folk cuisine and more.

Traditionally, carnival processions also run through the hill and those in the Hlinecko region were added to the UNESCO list in 2010.
