The museum has preserved a typographic printing works, from types, dies and films to casting, printing and bookbinding devices and machinery. It collects materials which talk about the local printing works and document the activity of distinguished printers. It is one of the best preserved and most comprehensive collections in Poland. The museum follows the principle of maintaining the existing exhibits and bringing new acquisitions to full technical operability. During their visit, visitors can observe the subsequent stages of printing using the old, archaic method: from manual composition of the text with the use of a single letter, the subsequent imposition and casting on a complicated machine, transferring it onto paper, up to the final stage of bookbinding. 2002 saw the establishment of a graphic studio. Apart from being a place for design and graphic work, the room can also be used to hold bookbinding workshops. Typographical workshops are held in the historic typesetting room and they also include a tour of the whole exhibition. The tour is always guided and the guide starts the historic printing devices to demonstrate their operation.
